Dear Wangshik,
As you know, we had a discussion of Process Studies at Salzburg.  Process thought of the Whiteheadian variety has become remarkably international.  I truly rejoice.  Our journal in the past has been primarily North American, although we have made some efforts to be more inclusive.  For us the main question at Salzburg was whether we should recognize that Process Studies was the journal for North America while other journals developed in other areas, or whether our task was to be the international journal.  The discussion led us to the view that we should encourage new journals elsewhere but that, at least for now, Process Studies should become the international journal of the movement.  That entails r! eal change, and I am helping Barry Whitney to effect this change.
Thus far our journal has reviewed almost exclusively books in the English language.  We must break out of that mold.  However, we cannot do so without new structures.  Our solution is to have a third book review editor, and a young Canadian, Adam Scarfe, has accepted this role.  His task will be to coordinate the work of reviewers of books in many languages.  The next task is to recruit these reviewers.  I am writing to ask you to accept this role for new process-oriented books in Korean.
We realize that this is just one step in the process of giving expression to what is going on in Korean publications.  I can imagine that some report of past publications would also be helpful.  And then there is the question of abstracting articles.  ! Finally, we need help in encouraging Korean authors to submit articles for consideration for Process Studies.  Adam Scarfe and Barry Whitney need your help in reflecting about all of this and in implementing it as that proves possible.  Our present commitment is to book reviews
Obviously, we do not mean that you will necessarily review the books yourself.  But we are asking you to make sure they are reviewed, collect them, and send them to Scarfe.  Adam will work on putting them into good English and correct style for the journal before sending them to Whitney.
As an officer of the journal you will also be one of the journal's advisors, although your name will be listed in terms of your office rather than as a member of the advisory board.
I hope very much you will agree to help us.  John

Dear Wang Shik,

Thank-you very much for accepting to help out with the project of "internationalizing" Process Studies journal.  I very much appreciate your assistance in recruiting reviewers for Korean-language books on process philosophy and then simply forwarding their work to me so that I may edit them for publication.  The reviews should themselves be written in English.  But, because the reviewers may not be proficient in English and while I am not proficient in Korean, I may still need to touch base with you about the author's meaning when editing the reviews for publication.  Also, please let either Barry Whitney (whitney@uwindsor.ca) or myself know if and when you see that a new Korean process-related book has been published, and we shall do what we can to acquire it for review.

Please, if you have any further questions about the task at hand and your role in it, I would be very happy to answer them.  In any case, I hope to be in contact again with you in the near future.

Warmest Wishes,

Adam C. Scarfe, Ph.D.
